Well I wonder whether this might be a signal for governments to cut back on aircraft and crews in the refuelling role for the future!! :dunno:

Regards
Nigel.

It wouldn't surprise me. Plenty of savings to be had while doing so.

Impressive! Not so long ago, I watched a Youtube of F/A-18s trying to get back on to a carrier at night in very rough weather. With the deck pitching so much, it was one go-around after another. They had to launch a Hornet with a refuelling pod to keep the others from dropping into the sea. Of course, that meant one more aircraft trying to get back on board. I think they had another refueller lined up to go, but they all got down before it was required. What a night that must have been.
