E&S content

Post by DaveB »

Festivities to you all

Right, now the niceties are out of the way.. a cautionary reminder to you all.

I had cause, and good cause to lock a thread this morning.. the Piglet thread due to the quite vile undertones of racial hatred it contained. In fact, it has bothered me so much I have deleted the entire thread for fear of such garbage being on show, on this forum for all the world to see.

I am no legal-beagle but if some of it were not directly in contravention to the law of the land (UK) I would be very surprised and so it has been removed. I, and I know I speak for the administration will not have the good name and reputation of this forum dragged into the depths of personal, petty, vindictive hatred that some of you appear to condone. We all have dark places, personal places where we think things we shouldn't but those places remain private and for most of us, they're not places we visit very often.

Should another thread begin at any time in the future that displays any form of racial or religious hatred, not only will that thread be removed but the participants of it. The E&S area is here as a fun place to chat about non-flightsim stuff. DO NOT try and turn it into something else.

You have been warned.

No Imperator.. on this occassion, you'll be staying put

Although you started the thread, it turned into something you had no control over and is a wakeup call for me to be more vigilant in checking thread content. I don't mind a bit of rough and tumble but the bounds of common decency must not be overstepped. I am no tree-hugging ban-the-bomb merchant and I have my own religious and political views but here is not the place to voice them. 8)

I would just like to add to Daves posts...

I would have nipped this in the bud earlier if i had bothered to read it. As i have mentioned before, there is no place on this forum for that sort of chat. If nothing else it has served as a reminder to all of the admin team that we need to read every thread. E&S is a place that we don't often read as quite frankly its often full of nonsense. The time taken to take this action in no way means that we condone in any shape or form its content, it was simply and administrative oversight, and one which we shall try not to repeat.

I would like to appologize for not being more on the ball and removing it sooner.

kind regards to you all,
Ben.:tunes:

Well done chaps. Nice to see some good old fashioned positive action. Hoepfully there should have been a sufficiently loud awakening call to prevent a recurrence
Regards, Steve M
