Its a real shame. I don't know what to say apart from the fact I am truly truly gutted this has happened.

I am only glad I when to cosford when I did (early this year) to capture her in all her entirity before the chop.

Right, can some people help me with the following:

1. How do I start a charity?
2. How much would the Teeside Trident cost?
3. Are there any willing volunteers?

Aargh!!! I need money to save the last one and I need it now!!!

Heh. You'll need a lot of cash. But here're some pages to help:

Registering a charity:
http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/registration/

If you think you'll be in for a chance:
http://www.lotteryfunding.org.uk/

You mean they set that poor aircraft on fire? :huf:
How will you save it?

I would have thought that T1 was beyond saving.

Certainly if the Cosford one couldn't be I doubt that one could.

It was hard enough to save the T3 from Hethrow and that didn't need restoration as such.

Doh!

Vixus, I thought you'd know by now that you're supposed to be the brains of the operation.

I'm just the brawn, remember?

No, seriously,

I doubt I'd be able to do much, but they rebuild Spits and Mustangs for rich buisinessmen from wrecks that have been under the seas for ages.

I'm sure fire won't be quite as bad... yeah right.

I agree that if any had been saved it would have been the Cosford Trident. The one on the fire dump looks, quite understandably, in rag order..

Yeah, I guess it's time to come up with some sort of moneymaking scheme. Or pull off some kind of Teesside Job. With the Minis and the fast cars and such.

I still don't get it. Why just throw away part of an immaculate plane?(Cosford Trident)

Money really is the root of all evil.

From personal experience, moving a Trident (dismantle, transport, reassembly) is going to be in the region of £100,000. You need a place for it to go to and that one needs lots of work! I'm not even sure theres enough spare bits around to restore that one and its still used (and according to the boss of the fire school, will likely continue to be until long after he has retired!). Its fairly grotty inside and missing a lot of bits.

I know, it's pointless to even consider.

But they are really beautiful planes.
