Curtiss SB2C Helldiver ... Son of a Bitch 2nd Class ( it was not well liked, obviously)
By the way, with reference to the Zero/Zeke issue:in July 1942 the Materiel Section of the Directorate of Intelligence, Allied Air Forces Southwest Pacific Area, came up with the system of assigning names to Japanese aircraft because of the unwieldy and differing conventions used by the IJN and JAAF. It was far easier to recognise the name 'Betty' than G4M1, for instance.
In keeping with the conventions adopted, the Zero was given the male name 'Zeke'. It was used, but never really caught on because the name Zero (from the Mitsubishi Type-0 Naval Fighter ) was already in common useage before official name-designation system was introduced.
