IIRC there was a replacement texture for this, but as I'm at work right now I can't find out where it came from. There was also a "fix" whereby you copy the canopy texture from the Vampire to the Sea Venom... but then you have to have the Vampire as well! This was all covered on the Alphasim forums... which of course are no more! :-(

If I remember when I get home I'll have a look see, unless someone else can remember off the top of their head?

I think I still have a version I did up on the ftp. Let me go and have a look :)

GLAZING

This is much clearer than the original as I like to see where I'm going  Make sure you backup your original first ;-)

I was able to confirm that AS never had a PK for the venom.

They did mention coming across a new FSX version which inlcudes HMS Eagle. Not sure what their plans are.

If they do update the FSX version, I would be curious to see if the addon HMS Eagle would work in FS9.

Ah yes, HMS Eagle from Alphasim... I haven't been holding my breath! We can never have too many classic Brit aircraft carriers in FSX, but when Flying Stations release their HMS Victorious I'll be more than happy and won't hold out for Eagle.

As for an updated Sea Venom... Yes please, but I'd be more than happy just to get a PaintKit for now, no matter who makes it or what state its in.

Thanks Dave. Downloaded and emailed to home.

I've not got the Vampire... Not sure why as it has always been one of my favourite of all aeroplanes. Sitting in one at an early age may have something to do with it... But you have to admit, it absolutely looks the dogs!! ;)

Does anyone know more about this??

I just started looking into repainting the Sea Venom using the original textures as a base for my own paintkit... but then realised there are 10 (TEN!) different textures for the fuselage alone! 8) That is a a lot of work (and hits FPS)! There are also no bump or spec maps. If Alphasim ARE going to release an updated Sea Venom (?) I'm hoping they'll consolidate all the textures into one, add bump and spec maps and release a paintkit! Or maybe its just wishful thinking... :|
