P-38

Post by migeater0 »

Folks,

I'm trying to (or want) a repaint of "P-38L-5 The Difinitive Lightning"

I know they didnt exist, but I want to make a RAF version. Has anyone got a Photoshop paintkit? The one on the site is only for PSP!!

Short of get PSP and trying to learn all the funtions on there, a PSD version would be great!

Thanks in advance!

I think thats' already been done Miggy, ask or
check over at Sim-Outhouse CFS2 repaints.

All the repaints work for all versions of DCC's P-38

It is possible to read a PSP file into Photoshop with a plugin.

You have to load each layer at a time as I recall, but then it works ok.

Now all I have to do is find the link for you.

Beta software but worked for me previously.

I tried the method I suggested and it's messy.

You have to open the PSP file, select which layer to open from the drop down box and then save it as a PSD file. Repeat the process until all layers have been saved. Then open all the PSD files, drag them one by one to the master to produce the layers in Photoshop. BUT one of the layers is a different size, and obviously you have to sort out the order of them.

However (after that ramble) an easier and FREE way to do it is to get The GIMP from http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html. Download the first 2 files on that page and install them. Run the program (ok so it looks different) and open the PSP file (ignore the warnings that are basically saying this might not work). Voila the layered file which can then be saved as a layered PSD file.

You can then delete The GIMP if you are unlikely to use it again (until the next PSP file comes along).

Ian

Edit: or PM your e-mail address and I can send the 3Mb zipped PSD file.
