Chipmunk RAF Museum textures

Good old 5 AEF.

My one and only passenger flight while serving in the RAFVR(T) for nine years was in a 5AEF Chippie that by strange coincidence I had flown in on AEF as a cadet!!

Very nice indeed. I think it is the "Round the World" livery used on WP833 and WP962 by Bill Purchase, Ced Hughes, Tony Cowan et al in 1997 for the successful Chipmunk circumnavigation of the globe.

The whole story is in Bill's book "Around the World at 90 Knots - The Chipmunk Circumnavigation". A great FS project for someone with lots of time to spare!

ATB,

Brian

I couldn't do it in a KingAir Jonesey though I have done it in a Dove and Varsity. OK.. they're faster than 90kts but the world is still a very big place. In fact the slowest aircraft I've done it in is a Shacklebomber
