ATI Catalyst 6.11

Post by Quixoticish »

Has anyone installed the 6.11 driver set yet? I've seen stability and frame rate increases across the board; however there is one bug that's something of a headache. My 2D panels now literally look as though I'm seeing double, with everything overlaid and slightly offset. VC and all other views are fine. Has anyone else experienced this with the latest driverset?

I'm just glad someone finally replied. I know Nvidia are getting very popular since I last went graphics card shopping but I didn't believe I was the only one still running ATI.

Nope I run ATI 9800 XT 128mb

And it gives me quite good performance once I had it fine tuned for my likings....

Always uses the latest drivers from ATI.

I think the non-replies are (were) probably down to the fact that most of us stick with what we have. Two of my 3 'current' systems run ATI cards and the rule of thumb is.. if it aint broke, don't fix it

Hi Chris

Installed 6.11 & yes it was better frames but

I went back to 6.10 as the 2d panels are a mess & R Factor was jerky.

Not flown FS9 for 2 weeks as i am now in FSX mostly.
(mainly checking and adjusting all my models to suit FS9 & FSX without the need for different files).

Regards
Rick

Thanks for the replies folks. Now I know that other people are experiencing the same issue I'll save myself the hassle of the endless stream of tweaks and tinkering that usually happen when something breaks in FS9.

yes i have ATI and would not use anything else. i use the ATI 1600XT PRO 512mb . the only thing that kills me is my RAM, not got enough.
tried nvida once and never again, the replacement was a ATI 550 pci express which burned out after four months. that was replaced with the above video card under warrenty.
As for settings i don't have a clue, just plugged in and lets fly. I'am not a computer whizz so i blindly stumble along learning the finer arts of fs9 settings slowly.
