Advice needed - urgent!

Dear All,

I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision.

I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs: phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up.

My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I
ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't
know them."

I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always
walks down the drive, although I can hear a car driving off, as if she has
gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi?

I once picked up her cell phone just to see what time it was and she went
berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.

I decided I was going to park my motorcycle next to the garage and then
hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my bike, that I noticed that the valve covers on my engine seemed to be leaking a little oil.

Is this something I can fix myself, or should I take it back to the main
dealer?

Oh Graham, you poor chap - you have my sympathy. You shouldn't have to go through something as traumatic as this on your own. Have you considered counselling? Your local motorcycle workshop will be a magnet for similar lost souls with a sympathetic ear. Just stand near the coffee machine and look lost. You will get plenty of well-meaning advice. Just don't follow any of it (and don't drink the coffee).

You may also need to discuss things with a legal adviser. To find yourself in a possibly life-changing situation, you will need to make sure that you are not financially inconvenienced. For instance, the warranty may still be valid or a recent repair may be faulty.

Should the worst come to the worst and you need to change her for a newer model, you will need to play the field and look at everything that's available. But remember, some of the flashier models can be expensive to maintain.

But look on the bright side. Your wife's new boyfriend may be able to lend you something towards a new bike. If not you could always try blackmailing him.

If it is an English bike, then they always leak oil...The only real answer is to sell it and buy a Japanese one :think:

Don't know Gary, but I've known some Americans keep them all beautifully polished in their living rooms...They wouldn't consider that with an English bike

You need to be a bit careful with those Japanese models. Word on the street has it that some vital components are fitted at 90 degrees to the norm. You could get a nasty surprise if you go poking about blindly with one of your British Whitworth tools :sad:
