Classics and other bits

Post by Garry Russell »

I posted this link some time ago

However many new members and a lot of updating makes it a worthwhile re posting

Check out the Abandoned Plane Wrecks of the North section and the Bristol Frightener that has sat in the corner of a lake since 1956  also the sad remains of Carvair #7 N103, onetime British United/BAF's G-ASDC

I check Ruud's site often becuase it's almost always got something new.

I stumbled upon this article about a week ago on his site -

http://www.ruudleeuw.com/others-hs748-rousell.htm

I want to meet this guy. Take a HS.748 that's been trashed and restore it just to look at.

Nice one Chris

A 748 going down a road's a bit different

This link I posted is as you say often updated and I keep in on my favorites and every now and then go see what's new.

It has an interesting article on Fokkers now and another on bringing home the original onetime EI-AKA, first one delivered.

So not always British but at least classic to keep the interest going.

An bringing back memories. G-ASDC was the only Carvair I ever saw in the BUA dark blue as they were usually all Superfreighter operations locally so I well remember that particular aircraft, more so than the later regular BAF machines.
