Very nice. I love the head on shot.

Edit:

I vaguely remember there being a reason for this, something to do with improving the handling or providing better recovery from a stall? I think I may even have read it on this very forum with regard to DelPs(?) Dove.

I am very interested in the engines/props. Look at the exhausts - is this a turbine conversion? - Note also the rather unusual intakes at the top of the nacelles

It's a standing joke here Alex

Nice shots Jonesey. She's a busy, working aircraft and always a pleasure to see

EDIT.. Chris.. she's a srs8 hence the larger intake and different exausts

Chris that's a standard type Dove 8 nacelle

I think it is larger oil coolers or something........someone will know what.

But it's not turbine.

As to the missing bit Dave...that could be because it's visiting Liverpool

Ahh, I have taken the bait hook, line, sinker, rod, and copy of angling times?
What is the reason behind the tail plane design? Or I’m just digging myself further into a hole? :dunno:

I really should have released a Dove recognition chart

What you're looking at is a Dove series 8...the model I made is series 5/6..

The Dove 8 has different engines..bigger oil cooler intakes on top and thrust augmentors on the exhausts, as well as the higher canopy roof. Apart from that, it's the same.... as DaveB once so nicely put it: 'A Gentleman's transport of the highest standard'...

The Dove 8 and Heron series 1 and 2 are WIP...

ATB,

Derek

edit: the Dove has a bit clipped off the port elevator to prevent buffeting.
more edit: the Dove 8 model will have a bit missing as well...

Looking foreward to the Series 8. Imo the larger exhaust and big oil cooler makes her look more powerfull :)
