replacing laptop hard drive

I'm just wanting to know if this is a difficult operation? Are there any major issues such as compatibility i need to worry about? The infomation i'm reading is going over my head at this minute!

Usually a standard 2.5" drive. The placement can vary though. The location of the drive should be in the user manual. They're not usually tricky once you know where the drive is!

Go for a 7200rpm drive if you do get a replacement - that's probably the biggest performance boost you can give a laptop.

I've done this a few times and I've found its normally quite easy to do, once you've found out where its located. From what I've found so far, it'll either be located on the side, or, on one of newer laptops, it was sat in the middle.
