My request for info on the various forums for aircrew tales from the Cold War forgotten troops has struck gold!

The Prune forum has offered up some info on the RAF RB-45 ops and I have had a reply from John Farley (ex CTP BAE Dunsfold ie ...Mr Harrier), who is in touch with the leader of the RAF team who flew the ops. My faith in the internet is restored, to cap it all Mr Farley lives in my old home town, that I visit every month, that I think is what you call a result!

Great stuff Trev... not a bad a bad part of world to retire to and not a million miles from Dunsfold so some logic to that. I have a photo of him low flying in a Shar Mk1 over Dunsfold. Last proper British fighter I guess?

A result indeed Trev, great stuff. I saw some old photos of the RAFs RB-45 missions some time back; an almost unknown chapter, eh ?
