Years ago I was watching a Channel Airways Viscount landing when a Cessna 150 flight trainer dithered then stopped on the runway instead of turning off.

When the controller told him to vacate left immediately he slowly turned to the right and started going back up the runway.

The Viscount by then was approaching the threshold and the controller told Channel to immediate oversoot (as they called it then) at about 100 feet..maybe a bit less full power came and the nose was lifted for the go around.

As the nose lifted it briefly continued to scribe an arc with in effect the nose staying put and the rear continuing to descend.

Just as positive occurred the mainwheels kissed the runway before climbing away safety.

Normally on a go around..decided at an earlier stage they put the wheels up quickly but in this case they didn't and just as well.

The continued sink was not much in the overall scale of things but just enough for a little tyre smoke.
