Tks.. realised that but you were both too hot with replies  Not used to HJG and finding cfg files read only either  Not particularly easy to add paints that way :brick: In the groove now :)

Hi Tony,

Perhaps I'm not the best person to try this out in FSX as I'm finding it fighting me in FS9

Check and ref htm's included with the E3D are titled 'boeing_E3C_check.htm' and 'boeing_E3C_ref.htm (noting E3C check/ref on what is supposed to be an E3D model). Neither show in the sim as the relevant ref lines are not complete in the texture(fltsim.XX) entries. An easy enough thing to sort ;-) Should the files be E3D specific as the entries contained in the htm's also state E3C??

Neither wingfold or tailhook are making the refuelling probe extend and I can't find a ref in the dock's to say what it is??

Thanks for this Dave, ok as far as I am aware the check items are the same for both models. now you say the E3-D does NOT show up in FS9 menu? if you have corrected this let me know and I will change the file listing etc.. re tailhook let me look aat it and get back to you ASAP.
cheers Tony

Hi Tony,

Sorry mate.. it looks like I've mislead you. The aircraft shows fine in FS9.. its the checklist.htm and ref.htm that don't as there's no reference to them in the aircraft.cfg (kb_checklists= and kb_reference=). If, as you say, the E3C checks/refs are the same.. it's a simple matter to add boeing_E3C_check.htm and boeing_E3C_ref.htm after the = sign (eg..kb_checkists=boeing_E3C_check.htm and kb_reference=boeing_E3C_ref.htm) :)

Cheers Dave Iguessed thats what you meant :)
Ok I have re done the files and will reload them in about 30 minutes with correct ref and checklist listings. The probe is retractable using the water rudder command, so you can use the retractable landing light switch, seeing as she doesn't have said retractable lights...

Sorry I cocked up with that duff info from me! its shift-W for me.
I will also include that info in the file.
Hopefully it will be better now :)

Hi Tony,

Rgr on the shift+W ;-)

Btw.. don't copy my refs above verbatim as they're not strictly correct. :o The two check/ref lines should be..

kb_checklists=boeing_E-3C_check and kb_reference=boeing_E-3C_ref ;-) Don't sling .htm on the end as I incorrectly posted before Coolio

Hi Tony,

Well.. I think I have it working ok now in FS9 though I honestly can't be sure if all the gauges are working as they should as it'll take me half a life-time to get through them all

I have tried it in FSX and I get a super-shiney almost chrome effect from the textures.. most certainly not low-vis :o The panel seems to work fine and I changed the fsx panel.cfg as instructed. However.. the instructions in the aircraft base package say that you should use the fsx aircraft.cfg for use in FSX (logical) but there isn't one in the pack.. only one file which (I presume) is the FS9 aircraft.cfg. Perhaps if I turn aircraft reflections off it'll work.. I honestly don't know mate as I still don't use FSX enough to know it's in's and out's. I know there are texture issues on certain models but I've not come across one yet.. until now that is. Someone more au fait with the sim is going to have to explain a way out of this one I'm afraid :-(

Dunno what water rudder is in FSX either but it's not shift+W.. that makes the 2D panel disappear
