What a second half!!!!!

Tonks :partyman:
Agreed, the first half was a little dull, but the second half...WOW :o :o :o

The dilema - I believe that we can beat France, but if we have to go out at the next stage, I'd much rather it would have been against New Zealand.

Englands performance today was monumental. From starting as complete no hopers, their confidence grew and grew to the point of 'None Shall Pass' in defence.

Carry this through to the next round, and we'll make the final.

Come on England!!!

Just back from the pub where I watched the france v NZ game with my Geordie mate. the french did very well, but it was NZ's first real test and they failed. I have to say if England go out against France, we'll never hear the end of it so we (you ) have to win.... So much for the Southern Hemisphere sides... (OK, SA the Argies and Fiji are left) but what a great post for Northern Rugby... this is what world cups are all about! :welldone:

Great spirit from Fiji, shame they didn't manage to do it!

Yes, felt sorry for the Fijians. They were the better team for large parts of the second half and got two tries in as many muinutes.

They should head home with their heads held high.

Well done Fiji. Nice to see the Boks losing it at the end - really ruffled!

As for NZ, apparently according to an online poll for a NZ broadcaster, 55% blamed who responded the English ref (mostly for missing the (very slightly) forward pass). I'm sorry, but if I had a pound for every unspotted foreard pass in rugby, I'd be a very rich man...

Argentina vs South Africa.

Is anyone else thinking that this could be one hell of a game and even end up with Argentina becoming victors?

Two hours sleep... but what a event. Hats off to the French, very well organised indeed. I was there with two Scots, but was shouting louder that the pair of them put together.... which seemed par for the course, not much noise from Scotland fans at all.

The handling errors that used to be the Scots weak spot seemed to dominate the game. The interesting thing was that they always looked dangerous when going wide, and won all but one of their line outs, yet they only went for touch on about 3 occassions and only went wide twice of note... one of which resulted in the try.

Its a shame because they should have done so much better against an Argintiean one trick pony.

My money is definately on England or France to win, the Argies weren't great (albeit the Scots never took advantage) and from what I heard of the SA game, there are definate chinks in their armour...

This has turned into a great open World Cup.
