I'd like to see a 1-11 with Tays, even in FS form.

And that's a thought I'm going to erase before I go and do something stupid!

'Course I'd rather own one...no use in owning one you can't fly anywhere, you know, much as I'd rather have Speys.
Can't be arsed.

It's a damn shame that the 1-11 was never re-engined for real with the Tay's but thats good for another thread of "what if's and should have been's" :)

They did get the On3-Eleven flying with Tays but went no futher alledgedley to protect 146 sales.

A complete set of 146's though would be welcome if the hoped for follow ons happen :)

Tony,

I remember speaking to John at the begining of the year and at that time he was planing to include the RJX and 146-100. Do you know if this is still the case?

Cheers

Jon is really involved in FSX stuff now, but I managed to persuade him to cover these for us FS9 dinosaurs, the first release will be V.1.0 and this will be the 300 then the 100/200 with further release versions in mind to incorporate VC as well as some other improvements as he goes along, I am hopeful most of which will be in FS9 but I guess if we get the 100/200/300/QT that will be great, Matthias Liebrecht has a panel for the 146 which HJG will be using, this again will be slightly adapted for Jon's model and the RJ panel is in design as well so hopefully with all extremities crossed HJG will host a full range of 146/RJ airliners in the near future... No time frame but the 300 will be first and not too far off now. I will keep the HJG website updated and work on it ready for the release... :D
all the best Tony

Here's a pic of the 1-11 Garry mensioned, with Speys.......

Why didn't they promote this idea much earlier, instead of leaving it to HS to design a new similar sized jet with 4 engines? :dunno:

Hi Chris

It has Tays in that pic

The 146 was designed to fly in and out of airports the the One-Eleven could never have operated into...it was not built as a One-Eleven replacement.

At the time the 146 was designed the Tay did not exist.

The 146 was also designed to be very quiet in a time when noise polution from aircraft was becoming increasingly undesireable. I cannot see many 111s operating out of London City! Additionally if I remeber correctly (I worked on the 146 in the late seventies and early eighties - not in an important capacity) the cost of running and ownership were supposed to be quite good.
She was a beautiful little airliner - I thoroughly enjoyed my time with HS/BAe and bitterly lament the loss of Hatfield, and indeed the majority of our civil airline industry.
