Word has it that Trumpeter Models of China is going to release a 1/350th scale model of the famed battlecruiser HMS Repulse in her final rig seen with Force Z in December 1941. No details when the model will be released or pricing, but I believe it will be soon. {It will look quite grand alongside my 1/350 scale model of HMS Hood from the same company. I really must get the Tamiya 1/350 scale HMS Prince of Wales and the brand-new Revell-Germany 1/350 scale Bismarck released last month.}
Also featured will be a 1/350 scale French Battleship Richelieu planned for release this coming year along with a new 1/350 scale Soviet Kirov battlecruiser, 1/350 Udaloy II guided missile destroyer, 1/350 scale DDG-51 USS Arleigh Burke, two new Chinese PLAN DDG's and a whole slew of 1/700 US Navy "Treaty cruisers" of the San Francisco class {My Great Uncle's ship CA-39 USS Quincy included}
Here's a shot taken from the 2008 Trumpeter Model catalogue.
I was wondering what happened to it..now I can track it over here. I didnt know where to post this so I put it in the general CBFS forum...sorry about that.
I CANT WAIT to get the Repulse in my hands. Hood measures out almost 1 METER in length and it's STUNNING in detail.
Had dinner two weeks ago with a guy that dived on Repulse many years ago before it became a big diving attraction. He said the Prince of Wales was practically right next to it. Rather shallow dive, around 200 feet down. Prince of Wales is in a bit deeper water though he told me. I'm hoping we'll see a 1/350 scale HMS Warspite soon. We need some County and Colony class cruisers as well. Marvelous ships.
