56 Sqn performed a 9-ship flypast from Leuchars of Edinburgh, up to Dundee, Aberdeen and Kinloss earlier today, as part of their disbandment 'celebrations' (if that is the correct word).

the very sad end of an era for me., i was on 229OCU when we changed over to 56 Sqn in 1992, and now I am on the parade on Tuesday when we die.

it will be with reluctance that I change over next week to the F'ing cocks

This makes me very sad when I think of the Firebirds Lightning display team from the early 60s. Progress I suppose... :-(

as of 1200 zulu toay, 56 sqn are now a waddo ISTAR sqn,. I spent most of the afternoon in ther Bar celeraring the removal of 56 sqn from Leuchars

as os start work tomorrow, i will be 43 sqn
