Now, you would think that getting an Avatar to appear above my name would be a doddle compared to installing FSX complete with SP2!!

HOWEVER.............

I've uploaded the image to Image Hosting at the Pond but whichever link I use in CBFS I either get "The URL you specified is invalid" or it appears to accept it but the only Avatar that appears is a box with a red cross in it which isn't much of an Avatar! I've tried linking to another site with the same results.

It seems :dunno: and I have no doubt that many of you are doing this  but can anyone please HELP as I would like to get this sorted and do some flying as at present it's really, really bugging me :@ . See I can get smilies to appear so why not an Avatar :-(

Thanks,

Pete

Is the pic too big and getting kicked out because of that?

The red box means the image can't be found

If you want you can send me the pic and I can set up a link with my Photobucket

A couple of things...It may be that you need to put behind that URL...secondly that filename "2tmzoumhtummelzozmy.jpg" is a bit on the dodgy side...the system in a bit fussy about filenames and I suspect it my not like to see a filename commencing with a number. Not relevant here but another thing not liked in filenames is a space. My avatar file is simple called "AvatarNow.jpg" and that seems to work well.

Garry,

Thanks for mentioning Photobucket! As you can see I've now got an Avatar :D

Peter,

You got in while I was typing!

I thought that filename looked unlikely but I cut and pasted it from the hosting site. It's strange because I have linked to that site in the past with no problems.

Anyway, Photobucket worked first time.

Thanks,

Pete
