Gemini RAR file?

Post by iainp93 »

Hi all

It seems that I'm doing something wrong with the Gemini.

Every time I open the file all I get is the aircraft.cfg, nothing else?

Can anyone shed some light on the situation? :dunno:

Cheers

What would be better is if some kind soul uncompress it and save it as a zip, then upload it in a format that we can all use. RAR is a pain in the RAR. The only good gui based unrar software i can find is payware. At least windows supports zip natively, and last i checked FS doesn't run on UNIX. :-(

Give me a mo...

Derek ;-)

edit: I've converted the download to a zip file, not tested. I'll upload it to CBF as soon as I get the author's permission or a thumbs-up from CBF admin ;-)

RAR is a pain in the RAR.
Agreed!

It does save a lot of hassle as a .zip file

thats just it John, winzip is payware. If people would use zip files they are natively supported in windows (i.e. you don't need anything aditional) In order to open RAR's you need eith Winzip or WinRAR which are both good at what they do, but cost a £10 or so, and I don't see the point in spending a tenner for a program I don't want or need. :-(

Precisely Ben

I only use the WinAce demo version (2.2?) which doesn't work too well if at all

errr I think I'm right in saying that the older verions of winzip, which IMHO do exactly the same thing, are free?

Just google for something like 'winzip 9'

Here's one that I found...

Kind regards

I suppose a plus of both Winzip and WinRaR is that they run for a while in demo mode. From memory.. winzip would run indefinately but would constantly remind you that it was not registered and WinRaR will run fully functional for a limited number of times. However.. it's a lot of trouble to get at a file.. especially if the end result doesn't justify the effort
