Thanks for that John

I had wondered about this with the report saying it had left the runway and into a carpark.

It's seemed like a small icident but the talk of ejections and aircraft written off seem to say something else

Now all is clear :o

Insurance is an interesting point because the cars are parked on MoD land which (unless things have changed recently) is not covered by normal policies.

A friend had his car totalled on an RAF camp by a skidding fuel bowser and had one heck of a job getting recompense, my wife had her car well and truely bashed in an MoD car park and we also had great difficulty in getting our bills paid.

So maybe the RAF will have to pay up for more than a new Hawk?

If you look closely in the background you can see why the Hawk is so second hand. Hawk vs Land Rover? Only ever going to be one winner.

The hawk still looks in better condition than Amy Whitehouse in the picture alongside - looks as though she'd ejected without removing the canopy first. (Write your own bang out jokes here.........)

When they repair the Subaru, will they paint a Hawk silhouette on the door?

I Noticed that the landy had resisted the impact of the Hawk quite well too! Thought it was quite funny in a way, new bonnet and headlight and away it goes, not bad considering the circumstances!

Would be quite funny to listen in on the insurance claims of the cars hit by the hawk!
