Vickers Viscount and Vanguard FS

Post by timholyoake »

After a very nasty and expensive rebuild . I am trying to find the Vickers Viscount and Vanguard to re-download. I can only find re-paints on the web sites . and on "Ricks Paint Shop" The two files appear either corrupted or withdrawn.

Could someone please tell me where I can get these two Aircraft from?

Many thanks
Tim H

Hi Guys

My original files are still working from my old paintshop site but most people don't click on the spinning floppy disc icon which is the download click point.

I no longer have access to my own page to edit the content as it was hacked and the password changed :dunno:

but it's much better to download the newer files as shown above.

Regards
Rick

B I G C O M P U T E R C R A S H ... Equally big repair bill.
I blew my mother board , Don't know how, but it happened. so a new board was £50.00 (Got a good one, didn't want to risk it again). now , my prob at this stage was that my BEAUTIFUL GeForce 7800 GS was bought because it was the best you could get for an AGP equiped mother board. BUT NOW you can't get a new AGP board. (Y ou can see where this is going can't you). I can get a new PCI Express card for £40.00, OR i can get a decent one for £100.00. So I bit the bullet, Fought the wife to a stand still. Sold the children into slavery. Dug up the ex-wife and pawned her gold teeth. Got myself a GeForce 9800 GTX +.

Came on this site and found out how to download the updated VC8 & VC9. And off I went.

Now I know that it a better card than my last one . BUT the two aircraft (which were really good for freebees, and better than some payware) are a quantum leap from their predecessors.

The handling is less like a Spitfire, and more like 100 tons of british 1950s steel.
The sounds are like Rolls Royce Turbines, and without that really anoying 1 second loop .

All brilliant.

BUT THE GRAPHICS ARE MIND BLOWING.....

Well done guys. There was nothing wrong with the original. It was very good, it was a labour of love, It captured the feeling. But it wasn't a patch on these Superbe Aircraft which have replaced them. Surley All this can't be down to a new mother board and a graphics card.

I always wanted a great FS experience and as such I bought the faboulous MAAM-SIM DC3. But it is now used a lot less than it used to be.

I paid a lot (for me) of money to get up and running again. And every penny was worth it.

Many thanks for the hours of work you put in to produce these two brilliant Air craft.

Hiya Tim :)

Though I feel for your previous situation, the good news is that the old stuff got better with all the new bits  It's always nice to know that all the hard work is appreciated so thanks for taking the time and effort to post

Now get your teeth into the 748 etc, etc ;-)

Hi Tim

Glad you are sorted

The VA packages were all revamped apart form the actual models..........the packages were great before but now systems can handle more graphics, sound etc so they were updated to take account of this.

RIck's models were certainly worth the work
