Trident 3 vs Trident 2 route changes

Post by RAF_Quantum »

Hi Guys,

A recent discussion concerning T3 range vs payload and the changes at FSA regards payload restrictions has made us rethink the routes allocated to the T3's. Previously, all routes from EGLL were scheduled for T3's and the T2's operated the flights from Manchester. The longer routes from Heathrow have now been switched to T2's and removed from the T3 routes. 'New' T2 routes :-

CBF2050 EGLL - LLBG
CBF2051 LLBG - EGLL

CBF2052 EGLL - LCLK
CBF2053 LCLK - EGLL

CBF2054 EGLL - LGRP
CBF2054 LGRP - LCLK
CBF2055 LCLK - LGRP
CBF2055 LGRP - EGLL

CBF2056 EGLL - UUDD
CBF2057 UUDD - EGLL

CBF2058 EGLL - LGAV
CBF2059 LGAV - EGLL

CBF2060 EGLL - LTBA
CBF2061 LTBA - EGLL

CBF2062 EGLL - LGTS
CBF2063 LGTS - EGLL

CBF2064 EGLL - ULLI
CBF2065 ULLI - EGLL

CBF2066 EGLL - LMML
CBF2067 LMML - EGLL

Regards

Fantastic. Much more sensible to match the equipment to the route. HS21 TR next on my list I think.

Just a query as a latecomer to the VA what happened to the Trident 1?

There isn't a Trident 1 model

There are two models as it is and the T1 was very different in many ways

We are not trying to make every aircraft ever operated in Britian so nothing has happened to the T1.

All this takes all the time of those involved as it is.

Thanks for the answer I wasn't complaining, just wondering why the 2 and 3. Although I watched the Tridents at Heathrow from the 1960s to about 1970 I can't really remember the difference between the 1 and the 2. I seem to remember we called the 3 the 'two and a half' or was it 'three and a half'.

Would it be possible to have a T2 route between Manchester and Heathrow as at the moment there is only one T2 at Heathrow and no easy way to move a couple more there without a trip out to Malta and back as far as i can see.

Hi Richard,

Yes, I'll sort that.

CBF2178/9 added to T2 flightplans.
