Was that the officers mess they were talking in :o

Couldn't do with the MCO being in the Ops Room. The Ops Room staff would be able to hear what inappropriate names we call them

I have to say, I prefer the last HMS Daring but there's no doubting the new ships technoligical advances. It's all very 'Star Wars' compared to my day.

Dave, with the advent of modern technology I think they've put the MCO in the OPS room so they can see when the OM(C)s have finished dusting the overheads!

54 heads? I thought they said they had 190 personnel on board? That ops room looks like it belongs to Destroyer Command X rather than an actual ship. BTW I'm pretty sure Destroyer Command X doesn't exist, but I wish it did!

Chris

Skip.. I have no idea what an OM(C) is but I doubt it would have happened in Mountbattens day (I know it didn't!) I ended my time as a 3-badge killick like the chap in the film but I was nowhere near as polite

54 heads must have been an error mate. I don't think even AR IV had that many.. unless of course the new Daring is a floating urinal ;-)

I have no idea what an OM(C)
Monkeys who work in the MCO (think it stands for Operator Mechanic (Comms)), I'm fairly sure it's changed again but it was OM(C) when I did my task book so I can't be bothered learning the new name.

I know there's a lot of spare space on the T-45, that's what happens when you want to put such a heavy radar so high up, but 54 heads sounds a bit superfluous unless you plan on a third of the ship being in there at a time. I'm guessing a reporter asked a stupid question and got a made up answer, not that I'd ever do something like that....
