Missing RAAF Canberra found in Vietnam

Very interesting, very poignant.

I remember Vietnam being on the news almost every night when I lived in Australia. My school teacher, Mr Ogilvy, ended up out there in an armoured unit.

At least for the families they have closure.........39 years of not knowing for sure.

Regarding the fate of the plane, yes. The search for human remains at the crash site is being carried out, but if they ejected and died elsewhere, they may never be found. Maybe the locals will remember something.

Had they ejected and been captured, could they still be alive? I seem to remember having read many years ago that there were possibilities of American POWs' still held captive in North Vietnam!!

However, one clue as to their fate would be digging around the crash site to see if the ejector seats are near the wreckage, failure to find them will only raise further questions as to what happened to them. :-(
