This is much more than an arcade shot em up.....if you cannot fly choppers then you may want to move into the "game" playing side of things....

But if you want realism then i cannot recommend this enough......its the best of both worlds.... :welldone:

Not for beginners..... ;-)

Hello Mate..

I'd challenge anyone to try this with the default Robbie R22! I've said it before and I'll say it again.. if helicopters really ARE this difficult to fly, then fixed wing pilots have little to be smug about

its good, but the autopilot need fixing, i dont think it was quite understood how auto pilot heading hold works,

fixed wing pilots are used to large control movement at low speed and small movement at high speed where helecopters tend to be the reverse. (small control movement at low speed and large movements at higher speed), helcopters are also dynamically unstable in the vertical axis and you really do have to use both hands and feet...its two handed flying compared to fixed wings more usual single handed flying

helecopters dont forgive mistakes much, if at all, compared to fixed wing and the bailout options are well, just about non existant (except black shark of couse)

you might want to do that since the autostab/auto pilot controls are on the right console while the hdg/nav mode couple is on the left, i think most fly it using the stab trim release or AP/release., to make changes

when you come across the "Sticky" hdg hold mode you will know what i mean since it would appear bank angle cut out was not modelled in the AP. thier is rather more to it than those 4 AP blue buttons on the right

if you are flying it without the auto stab engaged then its going to be hard work ;). it quite satisfying to get it all setup to fly an ABRIS route ...but it takes a while to figure out how

have fun

How can you fly it without a true helicopter setup?
Is it fly by wire, can I use a joystick and pedals?
I've stayed clear of the helos in FSX as I just can't fly them with a stick or yoke :-(
