In thought a Drover was a man's job rather than a living creature

Yes Garry I agree the Drover was a job herding cattle or sheep or something.....
As an aside I recall as a young lad seeing a TV series called the Flying Doctor...an Australian series using the DH Drover. Each week there was an exciting episode which everyone tuned into weekly...I think the Base operator was a blind man....long time ago to remember...pity that never made it to modern day DVD...must be in the Aussie tv archives somewhere.....

I never saw the earlier series Brian, but I did see the 1980's remake using a Nomad.

I saw that one too...GAF Nomad....in colour too......the early one was ....let me think.....around 1959-60. (I did say I was a YOUNG lad..!!!!)
I expect there are a few others on here that may be old enough to remember it.....if they own up to it that is...

The earlier one was shown in the Sixties at weekends but our ITV didn't have any programmes on WE mornings until the mid eighties.
I remeber it being on but we didn't get it :-(
