There's an amusing postscript to this story. Having identified the leopard droppings as badger, I quietly deposited them in the wheelie bin and no further mention of it was made within Speedbird Mansions (as instructed!).
This morning I noticed the cats in the garden having a territorial stand-off with something in the hedge. I watched them for a couple of minutes expecting it to be another cat, but b*gger me if a badger didn't poke it's head out! Naturally it had disappeared by the time I'd found a camera.
So I wonder if my analysis of the droppings was correct and all the badgers in the area are heading round here to raid my wheelie bin

Hmmm. What shall we call it, Joe? Trash can with wheels? Domestic dumpster? Anyway, it's where we put non-recyclable waste - and yes, you're right, it's not the correct place for badger shit. I'll have to retrieve it and place it somewhere where it can biodegrade.
On the other hand, if it's upsetting the local badgers, I suppose I'm going to have to put it into my backpack and cycle it back to where I found it This is getting very silly
