Theory of flight: George Cayley in his treatise "Aerial Navigation" 1809-1810 in Nicholson's Journal? I'm fairly sure it can also be found on the wibbly web.

Re: Its' google time again, aka Motormouse New Year Quiz
Round 2 scores a further 1 point each to effoh,nigelb and allanl,
still 2 questions remain needing answers:
What is this the route of: Brooklands-Hendon-Harrogate-Newcastle-Edinburgh
Stirling-Glasgow-Carlisle-Manchester-Bristol-Exeter-Salisbury Plain-Brighton-Brooklands? (would've thought our resident Brookie expert would know this
)
What was first issued to a British aircraft on 1st May 1919? (Garry was thinking along the right lines,but not correct)

G-EAAA - A DH9 of AT&T prior to this the prefix K was temporarily used for British aircraft during 1919
Leif ( No googling required) I have the list of British registrations and AAA was first of a block of Dh9s converted by AT&T for airline use.
