Others had to scrapped in situ. Should have converted them earlier, instead of eeking out the last hours on the Victors.
VC10 to end Pax carrying?

Indeed Garry! Something like fractions of a milimetre of metal thickness was left on the wing fuel tanks of one of them due to corrosion, and I'm sure I read it was one of those that flew out!!

K4 ZD241 'N' is the last ex-BOAC super still in service. Registered as G-ASGM.
I last flew in it on 5th December 1976 from LHR to Doha. I could be available to work the last flight if it was repainted with a gold speedbird

In a word ... No! I was far too busy in the galley for personal appearances!Garry Russell wrote:Are there any pics where you have appeared????.in the doorway or whatever or any that for some reason you know you were on that flight??????
I think the only pic of me and a VC10 in the same shot is one I've posted before of a gang of us on the flight deck somewhere over the med finishing off a fantastic 21 day trip. Me in my dicky bow and sideburns! I expect it's around here somewhere ...

Yep
I remember that one
I was think though of you caught up in someone elses pic.
But being pics of the type at work I suppose you would have been hiding
There is a CL-44 pic with our Leif standing at the tailbreak..that was the sort of thing

The only one in that vein is this non-British non-Classic!

And one in the older military style uniform but no aeroplane ...

But I was on Jumbos by then.
