I'm torn...

Post by TSR2 »

Last year when I left my job with Scottish & Newcastle they did a whip round for me and got me vouchers for a model shop in Edinburgh as I fancied getting a radio controlled aircraft... now with impending fatherhood, a radio controled option isn't really practical, but the vouchers need spent, so do I go for...

I think Jelle has at least one of those VC10's mate so unless you've seen one close up, see what he thinks ;) TSR2 is an obvious choice for the member formally known as XR219

Yep I have my Rolly Beamont signed XR219 print up in the living room and have ZA141 and XX914 mini diecast ones. I forgot all about the vouchers until tonight! I love that original BOAC on the 10 too. :wall:

That early BOAC was on an early casting which was not so good.

Don't know if they've done it on the better later casting *-)

TSR looks interesting :)

TBH.THe VC 10 is likely to be arround in many forms from various companies for a long time but the TSR might be a little more rare very soon so maybe now's your chance :dunno:

Just a thought *-)

It's the other way around, the RAF C1K is the old casting and has some printing issues, the BOAC one is a newer version that looks very good, so if you choose a VC10 go for that one. The main issues with the RAF one are the cockpit windows, they are a separate piece of plastic with the cockpit roof and that doesn't look very good, see here: http://www.tricatus.co.uk/CorgiAA_pages/aa37001.htm.
For photos of the BOAC one see here: http://www.vc10.net/Misc/vc10_models.html#Corgi (scroll down)
I like the BOAC one a lot, I cannot find any errors and it is a scheme that fits the VC10 very well.

I couldn't possibly comment on the TSR2 of course... ;)
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

Hi Peter

As far as i can remember yes as i remember the Irish Nurse on the Hospital ship (name has gone though)

I was heavily sedated and suffering a lot of burns on my lower back and legs
My hands where also lacerated badly and Arm was broken.
Not a happy time as still mostly a bit of a mental block even after 28 years :$
all i can remember is being picked up by another crew member off the engine room floor with by hands burning and wondering where my clothes had gone ??? (very odd but remember that bit fine)
Didn't really know what was going on until i was moved to an Ambulance in UK
Don't know even if it was Brize Norton :dunno: (I love Morphine  )

Regards
Rick
