It's in the USA, they often have problems identifying things that are not US-built. I was listening to someone once who was describing a Vampire as 'the first British fighter jet that flew in WWII and tipped over V-1s'. Yeah, sure.

(With apologies to the enthusiasts that do know the difference) ;)
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

On another forum the question was once asked as to what exactly a NAMC YS-11 was

The answer given was ....."Basically it's a Japanese licensed built HS.748" :lol: :doh: :wall:

It's in the USA, they often have problems identifying things that are not US-built
thats why we needed "Invasion Stripes" in WWII as the Yanks will shoot anything that don't have a star on it :lol:

My Mum's cousin was shot down by the Americans. He was in a Hudson off Northern Ireland

I remember reading that one of the big problems that pilots had when they started flying p51's was getting shot at by the bomber crews they were supposed to protect.... they were getting mistaken for Me-109's . they eventually had to have special marking or something to set them apart :S .

Heh, I've also lost count of the times that I've been clocked as Australian... which is worrying as I sport a strong-ish Scouse accent! :lol:
