Smokey sooty fire breathing welsh dragons...

Post by gordon-in-aberdeen »

Thought this might be of interest to some here who like smaller classic british machines.
We were on holiday in Wales the other week and had a cracking day on the old Talyllyn railway.
Here's some pics for those of you that like small smoky sooty fire breathing welsh dragon things...

Nice pics, looks like a fantastic day out. I've never been on the Tallylin though. One day.

Thanks for bringing back some happy memories.

I have ridden on a few of the Welsh narrow gauge railways, some of them many times. The Tallylin railway is particularly nice with some breathtaking views. The Blaenau Ffestiniog is another one well worth visiting.

Great pictures, hanks for sharing. When I initially looked at the first picture, I thought it was a scene from a model railway. Then I spotted the engineer in the cab.

Back when I was in the Boy Sprouts we had a Scout Master who was a narrow gauge enthusiast and it was surprising how often camps happened to be located within striking distance of the Welsh narrow gauge lines!

Lovely shots, we thought they were quaint back then.

That was a couple of score years ago now..............mumbles off in auld phart mode...... :worried:

Very nice, one of the Welsh railways I most want to visit. Managed a trip on the ffestiniog last year which was brilliant. I might make a post with some of my pictures.
