It wasn't a revolver Dave, it was a semi-automatic pistol....

...I was sucked into the topic ...talking of revolvers I'd best go find my trusty ex-service Webley and single round. I've hidden it under something but I can't remember where.....

Is that a Polaris sub in your bed or are you just glad to see me *-) (stolen and modified from Black Adder)

Ah.. I see. Should it be a CZ 27 that Mark suggested, it would cause less of a bump under your pillow than a revolver.. probably with the holster too if it had one. So many of these things were floating around after the war. My dad had a Colt .45 and holster with ammo he got off a Yank that he kept for a while (well before my time I might add) but my mom has never liked guns of any description so she made him sling it and the lot ended up in the bottom of a quarry which has long since been filled in. Also had a family member with a 9mm Mauser which was an heirloom from WW1 but that got handed in years ago. Point is, we don't really need to keep these things do we. What if this womans house had been turned over by thieves and they'd have found the pistol :worried:

Anyway.. enjoy your Polaris sub Garry
