The Chinook one I think is only about design and production.....the programme where they show how to make it work will be filmed in about eight years time

Hope it's not a 'Blue Peter' production!
Hello children, today we're going to build a nuclear submarine.First we get some cardboard tube, paint it black and some sticky-backed plastic to cover the ends.A matchbox for the conning tower,by the way thats the sticky up bit on the top.And there we have it.Now you can obliterate the whole world including that horrible auntie who always kisses you when she visits.Bye bye children, bye bye.
Bl**dy heck,I must get a life away from this pc.

Hi Folks
Dave -
Glad you enjoyed it.
Did it give an update on Astute's current status ?
Danged annoyed to find its not available on BBC iPlayer.
as I don't use TV.
For any that missed last night's episode,
its repeated tomorrow - Tuesday 29/06, 23:20 on BBC Two (England, Scotland, Wales only)

Hi Paul
Annoying that Aunty Beeb puts certain things on iPlayer and not the things you want to see
No.. no current status. It ended with her leaving Barrow for sea trials/acceptance never to return and comments from the 'shop floor' builders looking forward to cracking on with boats 2, 3 and 4. No great detail (which is to be expected given that many of her bits and pieces are secret) but plenty to keep you going for the hour long prog

Hi Folks

Been out all day,
just returned to find its now available on iPlayer.
Link http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00syt1w

PS
BBC director for the series,
and who specifically made this episode,
was formerly one of those 'shop floor' builders, (an ex-painter from the yard).

Hi Paul
You saying that, it's possible to tell that whoever was in charge had more than a passing knowledge of the subject. I suppose this could've come from his awareness of shop floors and how they operate. Regardless.. he did a good job given there was a great deal he couldn't show
Glad it's up on iPlayer
