'Ice Pilots' on Quest

Post by JohnD »

May be a bit late but there is a programme on Sky channel 154 Quest about Buffalo Airways with C46s and DC4s if anyone is interested.

Tonight at 10pm till 11pm.

Regards

John

Is it available as a podcast anywhere ? The C-46 is a favourite plane, and you don't see much of them flying.

This is a very interesting prog. It amazes me how the people and the planes survive the very harsh winters out there in the Northwest Terrorities. This prog. been running here in the UK for a few weeks now on Quest. I noticed that the weekly episode on Thursday evening gets repeated on Friday at 10 pm. I like this Quest channel, there are certainly some interesting progs. on this channel. The only downer to me is that the ad breaks seem longer on this channel than others :S

There's this site also, pretty sure you can watch the episodes here. I can't, I only have steam driven internet.

Last Thursday was Canada day and they ran the whole series as an all day marathon, brought back a lot of memories for me, thick black oil, smoke and flames...

George, thanks very much indeed. Not owning a TV can very occasionally back-fire on me, so your post is very helpful indeed. Grabbed them all, though episode 9 seems to have no sound. The rest of it looks terrific, so I'm very much looking forward to watching them, Thanks again !

Robbie, tried that link of yours for episode 9, but its says its currently unavailable. I'm sure I'll find it somewhere. :)

Paul

I had the pleasure of jumpseating on a Challenge C46 many years ago from Miami to Atlanta - it was quite an experience.

Envy, Leif...pure, unadulterated envy ! Dont suppose you have any photos, do you ? Can't exactly pin down the reason why I like it so much; maybe its the same reason why I like the Liberator and Halifax...they all lived in the shadow of their more famous contemporaries.

I'm lighting joss sticks and chanting with finger bells that someone will do a native FSX one.

Just to let you know, Buffalo Airways is a sponsor of the new Buffalo Airways Virtual. We fly only props and they include...DC-3, C-46, DC-4, Electra, and the Cl-215. We follow the real Buffalo Airline routes. We have a route for the "Turkey" flight to Turkey and will run the Oshkosh route this week end.I don't know if I can do this, add our link. If not, please remove it. Just want to show you who we are.
