Heh, had a couple of Peckers knocking about in the garden too...

Quick bird rant.
Stupid ****ing Wood Pigeons! One nearly took me out today on the bike. If I hadn't been leant over as much it would have took my head off... not a good thing to happen on a fast left hander! Probably trying to get revenge for all the one we used to shoot

Try riding one one day Chris and you'll see just how many tit's (or even wood pigeons) there are on/in 4-wheels. These outnumber the winged variety many times and are a lot more dangerous. ;) Better still.. an open invitation. Pop down to The Bull any Wednesday morning.. I'll take the seat cowel off and put the passenger seat on.. and ride on the back with me to Brooklands. Make a careful note of every time some twat in a car has tried to kill you ;)

Ah Dave, it's a kind offer but I have not the faintest intention of riding on the pillion of anyone's motorcycle . Funnily enough, only 10 minutes ago I encountered a motorcyclist doing what I would estimate to be 80 mph in a 40 limit, and in the North this is not, I'm afraid , a rare occurrence, and it accounts directly for the fact that 3 roads in the North are far and away the most dangerous - as measured by accidents - in the nation ; the vast bulk of the accidents on the Cat and Fiddle are in fact solo m/c with no other vehicle involved

I read somewhere (or was it on the box) an interesting statistic which showed over 70% of motorcycle accidents where no other vehicle was involved were a consequence of either poor roads or cr@p on the roads.. the main offender being diesel. As there aren't any diesel powered motorcycles to the best of my knowledge.. the blame for that must go elsewhere :)
I had a herbert yesterday coming out of Bracknell in a blue Fiat Bravo who insisted the second lane was his. He wouldn't move out of it and proceeded to harass the driver in front until he eventually moved out of the way after a barrage of hand signals and gestures. I can only estimate what speed he shot off at but can confirm it was well in excess of 82mph. He wasn't a kid either so old enough to know better. No sign of any pregant females in the car and he was going the wrong way to catch an aeroplane.
I eventually caught up with him at J12 of the M4 having watched him barge his way into the filter lane!!

It would be interesting to see what percentage of bikers are officially 'screw loose' and what sort of percentage of 4-wheelers are in the same category. I'd like to think that as there are vastly more cars on the road (4-wheeled+ vehicles if you will) that the biking fraternity are still outnumbered many times over by their multi-wheel counterparts. After all.. the 'Think Bike' road safety campaign wasn't born out of car drivers using their eyes ;)
