That looks like a little house on legs. One can imagine the astronaut withdrawing his arms from the sleeves into the main bit, and opening his box of sandwiches. Brilliant! Another Grumman triumph. Cheers Brian.

If there's one thing Grumman could do it's build tough. Their nickname was the "Ironworks" for a reason.

Aaaaand...most of an hour later I resurface from watching videos of flybys of various aircraft. Got to admit the sound of sheer power is addicting, to say the least. Big radials, powerful turbojets - but there's just something about the sound of RR Merlin engines that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
