 :guinn:

No.. no booze.. a calm, clear head is what's required here  We need a prayer icon really as I could use one now :worried: I have managed to bring it back from the dead though for how long is anyones guess. I can't say for sure but I think KasperskyAV2010 was responsible. After first removing LHRXtremev1, I installed v2 and Kaspersky kept coming up saying this file and that file were behaving like Trojans (or the like). I kept cancelling the warnings and presumed everything had gone ok. The last onscreen message I got was do you want to add scenery to database.. YES. Next.. the box above 8) Keep calm! I looked in the LHRXtreme folders and nowt was there :-O How do you uninstall something thats not there?? Well.. you don't  A root around here.. a root around there and a rebuild of the FS9.cfg and up it came  Somehow, what I think happened was Kaspersky told the pc it was having none of this but it let the install routine rename the FS9 root folder scenery.cfg but not let it write an active one :-O

Yeh.. sounds like BLX doesn't it. I've disabled Kaspersky for now and reinstalled v1 of LHRXtreme.. added [Oldmodules] to the rebuilt cfg and am going to attempt the LEPA flight. The thought of being stranded in Palma is too much

I did find kaspersky and I often found it reporting all my good programs as suspect.....FSDS, FS, Office, Photoshop *-)

The trouble always with this sort of thing is trying to find out just what it is you're suppose to fix as it's never straightforwards.

At least in the old days you could open it up and find the cog with the missing tooth, or the valve that wasn't lighting up

At least you've made some progress :worried:

Yes indeed. I made the flight back from LEPA while holding my breath for 2hrs 8mins and Kaspersky tried to open once when I started the descent AND.. it was disabled :-O Wonder if my anti virus is a virus *-)

Anyway.. so far, so good

I had the same problem Dave but when I disabled Kapersky prior to installation it loaded OK.

Regards

John

Edit - Meant to indicate it was FSX

Hi John :hello:

Tks for that mate. There are a lot of functions Kaspersky (this version) doesn't seem to like and rather than risk this happening again, I'll be sure to disable it during any install and let it worry about it later ;) I've just found out that what I thought was Kaspersky still running when I'd disabled it was a reminder box coming up telling me that autorun was disabled. You'd think the program was clever enough to know that if I'd disabled it, it would be disabled 8) The best thing an AV program can be (other than effective in stopping nasties) is unobtrusive which up to now (v2010) Kaspersky has been. The 2010 version is definitely less so :(

I have those sorts of days every now and again.

Tried to get the lawn mower to start only to find that I forgot to check the petrol tank and there was not petrol.

Well Dave it must be one of them days everywhere,
I reversed out out of the field this morning having just finished the chores for the day, but I forgot about the 7ft bucket on the front of the tractor...oops..totally destroyed the fence post and 10 feet of wire fencing , first I had to bring all of the horses into the stable so they couldn't escape, then struggled to fit the hole boring attachment on to the tractor on my own, then find I don't have a replacement cedar post..ok get the chain saw out, which of course won't start without an hour of tinkering, ok trudge into the forest and select a suitable cedar tree...damn they're heavy   , finished now and more than ready for lunch at 17:00 hrs :'( ...too exhausted to fly tonight :((

Robbie.
