Spitfire Women

Post by Garry Russell »

Just reading the weeks TV guide and this is down for BBC2 19:00 Thursday (30th September)

The synopsis reads thus:-

Shown last week on BBC4, this documentary about the female pilots of the Air Transport Auxiliary is rich with strong characters, some of whom tell their remarkable stories

I seen it too, a good watch. I liked the part where one girl said she "borrowed" the aircraft she was supposed to be delivering and visited her friends

It's says on my post it was on BBC4 last week  , but for peasants who only have BBC1,BBC2, ITV1,ITV2 and C4 it's not been on before :)

Of course this is UK only.......for those outside the UK......Image

Saw it when it was on BBC4, thought it was very good, if they're showing it on 2 now they might also show the Wellington Bomber programme, how they built one in 24 hours at Broughton.

The best one is the Battle of Britain from the German perspective, through diaries and surviving pilots. One 93 yr old vet even goes up in an Bf108.
