NZ Anson

It looks like there will be a Avro Anson joining the airshow circuit down in NZ.

Near the top and toward the bottom of the page there is some info and pictures

Most had increased head room and the windscreen was steeper and squarer :)

Compare the nose of the NZ one with this one (with apologies for the 'support vehicle' that's in the way):

Despite several diffent box artworks over the years, Airfix have always had the earlier version depicted on the box whnereas the model is the later type.

No one seems to ever notice this so I can understand anyone that misses it

There weer MK.1's with that front end on the 'greenhouse' cabin which had less headroom than the series 19 type shown in the pic but the cockpit is the same.

I always thought it odd that they carried on calling it a Mk.1 despite the new cockpit area.....and very different look due to that. :dunno:

The one in picture seems to have a longer nose compared to the Kiwi Andson.

Not sure about that AD

But if you imagine the NZ one just as it is apart from that windscreen and you have ther version I was talking about

The NZ one is a very early one and that pic is a very late one.

There were 21 Marks (I think) so there may well be a longer nose cone on that one.
