Hi AD

Yes any airline can do them......it's just them using an earlier livery or sometimes a livery form an earlier name or airline that was a part of their history.

Like US Airways painting Piedemont ot BA painting BOAC.

Sometimes it is done not my an airline but by a film company and it is not real as such like the Air Atlantique DC 6 painted up as an Air France DC 4 and a Caravelle that was painted in Air Canada livery.

Don't think there is any modern planes flying here that are in old colours.

Hi AD

A retro jet is a current one painted in an earlier livery those are just old pics of liveries that were cirrent at the time.

I've changed those to links for copyright reasons ;)

I think the KLM scheme on the B738 is successful because the 737 has a direct lineage back to the early 60's and thus most "retro" schemes would probably look well on it. (The 720 was only 7 feet longer) The Airbusses are that much less convincing, but I do quite like the SAS one. The Air France one is awful, I'm afraid.
