Back in action

Here's a familiar subject for those that are having withdrawal symptoms

Following my enforced retirement from simming a few months back, things have changed a bit. Firstly I've got a bit more time on my hands now that cyberbrat has gone to Uni (although I'll still have to work till I'm 67 to pay the £40k it's going to cost me  ).

Also, I found what was slowing my laptop down. It's a dual-core and somewhere in the system config a box was ticked telling Windows to use only one processor instead of two :dunno:

So I thought I'd load up a limited flight sim setup so that I can still do the odd circuit in classic British jets when circumstances allow. I'm now FSX/Acc only and the only add-on aircraft at the moment are DG's Hunters and Auster and DM's 1-11. To keep the sim smooth I'm only using default scenery with no AI, with the exception of Kai Tak and it's built-in static aircraft. Having said that, I'm very pleased with the flying experience and my first landing on Runway 13 for months was a greaser! I'm even getting used to flying in the VC. I definitely won't go back to FS9 now but I'm undecided as to whether to get a more powerful desktop to run some scenery in FSX.

My number one hobby is still mountain biking and I do about 80-100 miles a month off-road and I'm now as fit as when I was 40 and I absolutely love being out in the wilderness in the open air. If I stay this fit I could be working until I'm 75!

I'll catch up with all the news over the next few weeks.

Ian :)
