Looks like the Aussies found a good trio. I'm waiting for Sunday and the premier of TopGear US. They refuse to show anything of the first episode, so I'm sure we'll be seeing the UK trio.
BTW, Tanner Faust is the guy who drives Captain Slow through the airport in a drift car on the UK series. I personally think they did a good job of finding 3 guys to have the same sort of chemistry as the UK crew. We'll just see if it works as well.

Oh no, bloody colonists copying the BBC again. Usually never works, based on recent history. Coupling was a disaster, The Office is not as good as the original, although it has improved but it has gone on far too long. In the past, All in the Family (Till Death Us Do Part) and Sanford & Son (Steptoe and Son ) were good in the colonial versions but those where years ago.

Justin Law's Transit has a Jag XJ220 as the base chassis. I think Lord March makes him drive it every second year to give someone else a chance of making fastest time up the hill. Watching him chuck sundry Le Mans Jags up the narrow path - and one time I'm sure he drove a Lotus Renault F1 car in the rain - is always worth the admission.

Actually, this is the creation of *the* TopGear team, the same ones who started the German & Australian TopGear shows, so it's not exactly "copying".
Well, watched the premier of the US Top Gear and confirmed that yes, BBC Worldwide is responsible for this and you can tell even before the credits roll because it definitely has the same feel. I'm kinda mixed on it right now. Good premise for the initial stories, the chemistry seems to be there, and they definitely have a good location to run on where they've pretty much recreated the original track. They've got a nice "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" that they've branded the "Big Star in a Small Car" (a Suzuki) and Buzz Aldrin was the first "victim". I will wait to see how this season (10 episodes) goes before I make a final judgement on how well they've translated the show to the US, but I see potential.
TopGear is a programme that impressively demonstrates the abilities of the web - being extremely successful all over the world I'd say there must be something behind it. To me it's watch one clip - watch five! Mostly entertaining, sometimes more than cynical and often with a sense of British humour. Love it!
