Fed up with FSX

Re: Fed up with FSX
I can't reinstall FSX or nothing. All of the pictures that show during the installation when it works scream past and then goes black.
Still writing files then asks for disk 2. That goes fine for a while then it asks for another disk. I tried both disks when it asked for another disk and it said it was still looking for one. Tried again today and same as I have said above.
Anyway, least FS2004 is working no problems.

Re: Fed up with FSX
It's recommended that you run a cleaner like Crapcleaner or a registry cleaner and defrag after un installing FS.X.did you do that??
You might have left a load of bits in there

Well, I tried to uninstall via the FSX disc where it will come up and ask if you want to repair, modify or remove. But this didn't work for me. Went into the Control panel and what I thought was uninstall it from there.Garry Russell wrote:It's recommended that you run a cleaner like Crapcleaner or a registry cleaner and defrag after un installing FS.X.did you do that??

Re: Fed up with FSX
I read many time that you should clean up and defrag after un install to make sure everything is cleaned out and tidied up.
Looks like you didn't do that so might be worth tring it and then go for a re install.

Re: Fed up with FSX
I had a problem when reinstalling FSX, I found that it was impossible to re activate and could not reinstall acceleration, read on one of the forums that by creating a new user profile with administrator privileges and installing from there would cure the problem, and it did!austerdriver wrote:I have defragged and run registrycleaner within CCleaner.
Might not be the same problem you are having but worth a try!

I might give this a try later on and report back.robcarrich wrote: I had a problem when reinstalling FSX, I found that it was impossible to re activate and could not reinstall acceleration, read on one of the forums that by creating a new user profile with administrator privileges and installing from there would cure the problem, and it did!
