Jonesey, Ian Chichester-Miles funded it out of his own pocket as I understand it, so it didn't have any big backing. He died a year or so ago I believe, aged 83. The first prototype was rendered "useless" after NPT went bust so they lost their engine supply. Then they built a second one using Williams FJX-1 turbines but then Williams switched the supply of these engines exclusively to another VLJ, so once again, they were without an engine
