Great pictures, probably not the right thing to say here, but I actually think the Typhoon is quite an aesthetic aircraft!

The VC-10s seem to have thus far survived the cuts. Is the current plan to replace both those and the L-1011s at the same time)?

Must be nice to be up above the clouds at the moment. They're just dropping snow on me!

The VC10 is still planned to carry on until the back end of 2013, so really post SDSR there is no huge change in the plan. To be honest, there's comparatively little to save by retiring what is essentially our only AAR asset, when all the major costs have been paid already. We'll be losing a few aeroplanes and crews (as we always would as we drawdown) as we're effectively becoming AAR only. The last jet's just come out of major at St Athan in the past couple of weeks.

As for the L-1011, I'm not sure the plan (other than it will "drawdown from 2013") has been made public as yet.
