British hybrid this morning!

Post by hobby »

BBC TV news today, 4th Jan.

I have never seen a photo of this aircraft let alone this video report. Note the use of a simulator.

Takes one back to that extraordinary British success, the Islander/ Trislander. Those were the days of wine and roses!!!

Interestingly, this is about the 3rd or 4th time they've tried to launch this program. When they failed the first time, many of the designers were hired by Lockheed to work on the P-791 (http://www.military-heat.com/91/p791-hy ... p-project/).

Looks like they're back at it again though -

Hi Folks

G-OHAV belongs to HYBRID AIR VEHICLES LTD.

As Chris says, they're back,
HAV is the latest company name, of former Airship Industries.

G-OHAV's supposedly the Long Endurance Multi-intelligence Vehicle (LEMV) technology prototype,
to be followed by the more capable "Demonstrator" version, (currently in-build, USA).

An aside -
Corporate Marketing at its absolute best - Lockheed Martin site search for LEMV
