History of the RAF on TV

Post by J0hn »

Anyone who has satellite TV (including Freesat) - this documentary is currently showing on Movies4Men2.

Unfortunately, it's part two at the moment and already 1/3 of the way through the program - but as they tend to repeat their programs many times, it is sure to be shown again (my DVD recorder is running, so no worries about missing something whilst I'm typing this!)

There's excellent film of all the vintage RAF aircraft. The first part covers the period up to the end of WWII and the second covers the period thereafter, with many interviews with the pilots, too.

It's worth keeping an eye on this channel, as they often show aviation documentaries - for example, they have shown one about the Buccaneer many times.

Ah - must go - some fantastic displays by the Hunter on now... :)

Just to correct that - I had a look at my online programme - there are 3 parts at 75mins each.

Part 3 is on tomorrow at 11:45 (or an hour later on the +1 channel) and Part 1 is repeated on Sunday at 11:30hrs.

Arf!

The only reason I went up that far is 'cause there was naff on any of the others - this is the last channel on my Freesat set-up.

btw - I recorded everything, cutting out the ads and the actual program length was just over 55 minutes.

Wow - I really liked the Jaguar coverage today - my favourite RAF strike aircraft - but I'd never seen one land on grass before - and it didn't half thump down, too! :-O

Mind you, despite the excellent Tornado movies, why they had to play the naff Miami Vice-style music to it is a mystery!

I'm definately losing the plot (senior moment type) Could not find that channel so updated the box and got a few more channels added whilst the wife sat next to me, went down the list and the channel was not listed.....Then I realised that this pointer was about Freesat........not Freeview :wall: Oh, as for the additional channels I got they were ADULT PORN channels which brought an unprintable response from the wifey!!! :$ :hide:
